Longhorn In Manchester
Today, USA West took on England Academy 2 in their second game of the tournament. Unfortunately, the game did not go as well as we would have liked but still came away with a narrow 11-10 victory.
Now 2-0, USA West will take on Team Minnesota tomorrow morning looking to stay atop the U19 bracket. England Academy 2 showed a lot of heart coming back from a 6 goal deficit to come within 1 and almost tying the game at the end, despite the fact that the time was ran out and the English box-keepers gave their home team a free possession.
The defense shut down the English attack and Nikko Dutra made an excellent save to secure the win. In the first half, goalie Jackson Dupont played brilliant making save after save to keep a solid 4 goal lead in the first half.
With good, bad always has to come and unfortunately I re-injured my knee that I just had surgery on so I may not be able to participate in the rest of the tournament and will try my best to keep up to date on the blogs.
I also would like to apologize for still not posting pictures, I promise they will be up soon. Check back in tomorrow to see how USA West holds up against a strong Team Minnesota.
Texas Longhorn midfielder Spencer Price is playing for USA West at the World Games in Manchester, England. Check back for more blogs soon!
