Looks like either a fund raising video or the administration has decided to pursue going NCAA D!. No MCLA club could imagine this.

Yes, Michigan is dropping football to add Men’s lacrosse! Given the difficulties that Michigan Football has suffered including losses to teams with “State” at the end of their name, (Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan State) and the embarrassing loss to Appalachian State a few years ago, Michigan Athletics has decided to drop football and field a very strong Division I lacrosse team. The elimination of football will allow Michigan to fund 40 additional women’s scholarships and add Men’s curling, badminton and table-tennis. Seriously, this is cool, but it will be for club. No DI football school can add M Lax.

Matt,
I think I may have missed the sarcasm at the end of your post. Was your statement that ‘No DI football school can add M Lax’ meant to be serious? I assume it was a job, but if it wasn’t then I’m curious where you get that idea. Schools like Syracuse, Virginia, and Maryland field competitive squads in both sports every year….
