February 8, 2009
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport University 2010 men’s lacrosse season is less than a week away and head coach Bob Clarkson is already adding pieces for 2011. Clarkson recently signed Ohio product Nathaniel Adkins as the first in the class of 2015. DU will open its current season Saturday in Pontiac, Mich. when it takes on Oakland University.
Adkins, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, became the first men’s lacrosse signee for next year. A 5’10″ attacker/midfielder, Adkins is coming off a great season in which he scored 34 goals and finished with seven assists while being named 3rd Team All-State in Ohio and 1st Team All-District.
Along with playing lacrosse at nearby Big Walnut HS, where he earned three varsity letters, Adkins also played football as a safety and defensive end. Nathaniel is the son of Kelly and David Adkins and will major in business at Davenport in the fall of 2010.
