Northern Arizona announces 2010 captains
Northern Arizona Lacrosse Head Coach Ryan Hanavan announced the 2010 team captains. Seniors Troy Elliott and Drew Robertson, and Sophomore Brett Achilles have been selected by their peers to lead the Lumberjacks into the 2010 season.
“I couldn’t be happier with the captain selections this year,” said Coach Hanavan. “We have great team chemistry right now and these three guys are a big reason for that dynamic.”
Troy Elliott (Gilbert, Arizona/Mesquite HS) is the team founder, former player coach, and a three-time RMLC DII all conference selection (1st team, 2007; 3rd team, 2008; and 2nd team, 2009). Elliott has started the last three years at attack and is currently second on the team’s all-time points list.
Drew Robertson (Centennial, Colorado/Arapahoe HS) enters his senior year as a workhorse splitting time at midfield and attack. Drew will be anchoring the midfield this season and working with the special teams units.
Brett Achilles (Gilbert, Arizona/Mesquite HS) is coming off a 30 point freshman campaign and will be starting at attack in 2010.
The Lumberjacks open up the 2010 season on Feb. 6 when they travel to Tucson to face the University of Arizona.
