MCLA Vegas Full House Face Off Set for February

SALT LAKE CITY (Dec. 18, 2009) – Westminster College will co-host the inaugural MCLA Vegas “Full House Face Off” tournament Feb. 19 and 20 at the Viper Lacrosse Fields at the Thunderbird Family Sports Complex in North Las Vegas.
The tournament will feature eight MCLA Division-II teams representing four conferences. Biola University and Cal State Fullerton will represent the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference and the University of California Santa Cruz will represent the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League. Northern Arizona University, Westminster College and Utah Valley University will represent the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference and the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse Conference will be represented by Western Oregon and Western Washington University.
Four games will be played on Friday, Feb. 19 and five games will be played on Saturday, Feb. 20. The winners of Biola versus Western Oregon and Westminster versus UC-Santa Cruz will face off on Saturday with the winner advancing to the championship game. Likewise, the winners of Utah Valley versus Western Washington and Northern Arizona versus Cal State Fullerton will also play on Saturday with the winner advancing to the championship game.
“This inaugural event will pit numerous MCLA D-II top 25 teams in head-to-head action right out of the starting blocks in 2010,” said Westminster head coach and event creator, Mason Goodhand. “We’re excited to have four different conferences represented. With the inexpensive airfares that are often available in and out of Las Vegas and the abundance of accommodations, we are expecting to expand our coverage even further in 2011.”
This event is co-hosted by Las Vegas High School Lacrosse and will benefit the Las Vegas Lacrosse Association scholarship fund in 2010.
