Shreveport – Centenary College men’s lacrosse head coach Michael Brand has announced the Gents’ schedule for the upcoming 2010 season. The schedule features 10 regular season games with 6 in conference, 2 against Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association out of conference opponents and 2 Lone Star Alliance Division 1 teams.

The Gents will kick the season off early this year against the Lumberjacks of Stephen F. Austin State on January 22nd, a team the Gents fell to 13-6 in 2009 and 10-9OT in this past fall. The schedule is then highlighted by back to back games vs Trinity and UT San Antonio in the Alamo city on February 6th and 7th.

For the first time in team history the Gents will face out of conference competition when they host Kennesaw State of Georgia March 9th, and travel to Harding of Arkansas April 10th.

To make the schedule more competitive the Gents will play up against two LSA D1 clubs. In the second game of the season they will face the Horned Frogs of TCU on January 13th in Fort Worth. The second D1 match will have the Gents travel to Baton Rouge to take part in a Louisiana Lacrosse triple header, starting with the Caddo Magnet High School of Shreveport’s JV and Varsity clubs taking on Catholic of Baton Rouge, followed by the Gents taking on the Fighting Tigers of LSU.

With many new faces and experienced veterans, the Gentlemen look forward to playing a lengthened and more challenging schedule in 2010. To add to the excitement the Gents are eligible for post season play in their 2nd season in the MCLA.
