Centenary Announces 2009 Schedule
SHREVEPORT, LA – Head coach Michael Brand and the Centenary men’s lacrosse team has released its 8-game regular-season slate, which includes four games against teams that made appearances in last year’s Lone Star Alliance (LSA) tournament.
“We are extrememly excited to begin the next chapter of Centenary lacrosse,” said Brand. “With our team of experienced lacrosse players, and some young men who are new to our great sport, a strong schedule helps us focus on the games ahead.”
Highlighting the schedule for the Gentlemen are the season opener versus the Fighting Tigers of Louisiana State University, and Lone Star champion Southwestern Pirates. After the LSU opener, the Gents see six straight Texas opponents.
In their first year in the LSA, Centenary will play the minimun requirement of eight games, meaning the schedule process has not yet been completed. Plans to expand the schedule to nearly twice the amount of games for 2010 has been discussed.
