The Houston native is one of the goalies on the 45-man roster of the Texas Longhorn Lacrosse Club team.
Sanchez has been playing lacrosse for seven years and has been a part of the Texas lacrosse team since his freshman year. But, his introduction to this traditionally Native American sport was anything but intentional.
“Actually it’s kind of a funny story how [I got] introduced to [lacrosse],” Sanchez said. “This one day I was at school late my freshman year, and happened to check out a meeting of the lacrosse group. Soon as I attended it and heard what it was about, I got hooked to it.”
