Last year, Michigan won it's first MCLA Division 1 national championship over Chapman while Westminster knocked off Grand Valley State to win their first ever MCLA Division 2 national championship. The entire five day national tournament was held in Dallas with the semifinals and finals being held in historic Texas Stadium (former home of the Dallas Cowboys).
CollegeLAX's heaviest web traffic occurs during the spring season when thousands flock to the site on a daily basis. Players, coaches, and fans visit CollegeLAX daily and weekly for up to the minute scores, schedules, Top 25 polls, statistics, rosters, articles, audio podcasts, game photographs, and more. Traffic remains robust throughout the balance of the year as fans continue to visit CollegeLAX for timely updates about other levels of lacrosse including professional, collegiate varsity, and high school.
CollegeLAX, which previously existed as USLIA.com for 8 years, debuted with a brand new graphic design in October 2006. With active Message Forums, scores, schedules, Top 25 polls, news, blogs, and online contests, the web site remains one of the most visited lacrosse web pages on the Internet!
Lacrosse Information and Demographics
"A longtime niche sport, lacrosse is the fastest growing game in the US at every level. The appeal? It's a neat composite of other sports, it's fast, it's easy to learn. And it's cool."

Excerpts from "Get on the Stick"
By Alexander Wolff (Sports Illustrated)
April 25, 2005
Lacrosse, considered to be America's first sport, was born of the North American Indian, christened by the French, and adapted and raised by the Canadians. Modern lacrosse has been embraced by athletes and enthusiasts of the United States and the British Commonwealth for over a century.
The sport of lacrosse is a combination of basketball, soccer and hockey. Anyone can play lacrosse--the big or the small. The game requires and rewards coordination and agility, not brawn. Quickness and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse. An exhilarating sport, lacrosse is fast-paced and full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges are routine in men's and women's lacrosse. Lacrosse is played with a stick, the crosse, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball.
Once a minor pastime played in the shadows of baseball stadiums in the Northeast of the United States, lacrosse has become a national sport with more than 400,000 active players at the youth, high school, college, post-collegiate, and professional levels. Over the last 10 years, lacrosse participation increases by around 10% annually as the sport
explodes all over the country.
The National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) has data that confirms that lacrosse is the fastest growing sport at the high school level over the last 10-year period. The sport has been recently sanctioned or formally recognized in the states of California, Minnesota, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, and Connecticut since 2000.
